Everything Trimlane knows lives on your iPhone and in your own iCloud. No Trimlane account, no servers holding your app data, no tracking, no ads. The app's only network calls are fetching our public service catalog and sending anonymous crash reports so we can fix bugs — never anything about you or your subscriptions.
Everything you add stays on your device and in your own private iCloud. Trimlane runs the Smart Scan inside your browser and syncs only through your own Apple account — we never see it.
Everything you track in the Trimlane app — subscription names, prices, billing cycles, renewal dates, and any notes you add — is stored using Apple's CloudKit, in the private iCloud database tied to your own Apple ID. It syncs across your own devices the same way Notes or Reminders does. We don't run a backend that receives, stores, or can read this data — there is no Trimlane server in the loop.
If you import subscriptions found by the Chrome extension via QR code, that handoff happens directly between your computer screen and your phone's camera. Nothing passes through us.
The app has no sign-up flow, no email or password, and no Trimlane account of any kind. The only identity involved is your own Apple ID, which Apple — not Trimlane — authenticates. We never see or receive it. The sign-up form on our website is a mailing list, not an account — there is nothing to log into, and it is covered in newsletter privacy.
Trimlane collects no analytics, advertising identifiers, or behavioural tracking of any kind, and contains no ad SDKs. To find and fix bugs, the app sends crash and error reports to Sentry. These reports contain a stack trace, your device model, OS and app version, and anonymous session counts — never your emails, your subscriptions, or anything that identifies you.
Separately, Apple's own built-in, anonymous crash and performance reports may exist; Apple — not Trimlane — collects those, and you can disable them anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
Purchases are processed by Apple's in-app purchase system via RevenueCat. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple — we never receive or store your payment information. RevenueCat processes anonymous transaction identifiers to manage your purchase status. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for details.

The Trimlane Chrome extension is a separate piece of software with its own read-only Gmail access, used to find subscriptions from your inbox before you import them into the app. Because it handles Google user data under Google's API policies, it has its own dedicated privacy policy: support.trimlane.app/privacy-extension.
If we update this privacy policy, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated "Last updated" date.
